2025 Honda Pilot Elite AC Compressor Leak & Clutch/Coil Melted @ 31,000 Miles
As the title states, our 2025 Honda Pilot Elite was blowing only hot air over this weekend during the few days we had some temperatures in the 80s.
We brought the vehicle in today and it was diagnosed with a AC compressor leak and the clutch/coil has melted!
Luckily the vehicle is under warranty, but I have read others have had the same issue early in their Pilot’s life.
I feel like this is a part that shouldn’t “melt” and seems to be a bad design flaw.
A new compressor assembly has been ordered and will arrive later this week. My dealership has been a pleasure to work with as they also replaced our multi cam that failed at 24,000 miles under warranty as well.
Sure seems like the extended warranty purchase soon is no brainer if you plan on keeping this vehicle longer than 3 years/36,000 miles.
Thoughts on why this issue seems to be more common?
