First experience with LST - guidance please

Hey folks.
This is my first grow/ had earlier issues with yellowing at 3 weeks that seemed due to a slight over watering.
Now I’m another 3 weeks in ( I think) and starting LST.
I already toppled the plant. It’s growing quick, so I’m ’doing LST’ and have no idea if I should use my trellis net or just clips, hooks and wire.

Started just pulling the main stem down and now just using wire and clips to expose the lower new growth to more light.

I have some very big older growth that is crowing it a little.

This morning I just put the trellis on a few inches above where the canopy currently is - so it’s not doing anything at the moment.
Wondering if I should trim some older growth and if I should be any more topping at this point etc.

Can take more pics if it helps

Thanks in advance for any advice!
