I just did one at the age of 45. I hadn't played in 30 years until I signed up for New Horizons band this semester. Mine is run through my local university and they also provide free lessons and do ensembles along with a whole band concert.

I was a nervous wreck but I did it! I might sign up for another solo in the fall 😬
