Mengjiang Ambitions during WW2 (Greater Mongolia)

During the Second Sino-Japanese War, the puppet regime of Mengjiang under Demchugdongrob (who called himself descendant of Genghis Khan) has the ambitions of create a Greater Mongolia.

  • Outer Mongolia: Obviously the main goal was to unify the two Mongolias under his rule. He viewed the Soviet-backed Mongolian State as a territory that needed to be "liberated" and reunited with its Inner Mongolian brethren. Japanese military officials encouraged these claims, promising that the Imperial Army would eventually recover the region and install him as the "emperor of all Mongolia".
  • Manchukuo: Demchugdongrob also claimed the four provinces of Hsingan in Manchukuo on the basis of Mongolians living there. The Japenese rejected this claims as for mantaining the integrity of its puppet.
  • China: There were extreme claims on conquering Xinjiang, Gansu and Qinghai. Demchugdongrob called these regions "Upper Mongolia" and said that there were living up to one million mongolians.
  • Russia: The main goal against Russian land was to take Buryatia and the territories around Lake Baikal, which should be a Mongolian lake. Tuva was also envisioned as parto of Mongolians Natural Borders.

Norwegian Territorial Ambitions during WW2 (from mild to extreme)

Got nuked by moderation for "Low Effort", although I traced every single lake, frontier, island myself :(

  1. Claims on Denmark: Vidkun Quisling’s regime aggressively pursued the return of what it termed "old Norwegian dependencies," which included Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands. Nationalists argued that these territories had been "plundered" from Norway in the 1814 Treaty of Kiel and sought to establish a "Greater Norway" in the North Atlantic as part of their natural living space (Livsrom).
  2. Claims on Sweden: Norwegian collaborators frequently asserted historical rights to the Swedish provinces of Jämtland, Härjedalen, and Bohuslän. Although Quisling sometimes avoided making formal diplomatic demands to avoid direct conflict with Sweden, his propaganda machine repeatedly reminded the public that these areas were ancient Norwegian provinces lost in previous centuries.
  3. Claims on Inari, Kola, and Franz Josef: The Quisling regime sought to expand its borders significantly to the east, specifically claiming the Kola Peninsula and Franz Josef Land. Quisling justified these claims through "historical" arguments, viewing the Russian north as part of Norway’s strategic Livsrom.
  4. Claims on the UK: The regime laid extensive irredentist claims to British territories, including the Shetland and Orkney Islands, the Hebrides, the Isle of Man, and even Northern Ireland and North Scotland. These regions were identified as ancestral lands once colonized by Norsemen, and their recovery was seen as the restoration of the medieval "Norgesveldet".
  5. Bjarmaland: The Bjarmaland project was a colonization scheme designed to establish a Norwegian mandate over Northern Russia. Geographically, it was intended to stretch from the Kola Peninsula to the Ural Mountains, extending as far south as Lake Ladoga or even far south to Kirov. The plan aimed to "Norwegianize" the territory within two generations by teaching only the Norwegian language and installing a Norwegian overclass.
  6. Claims on Antarctica: Under the influence of Nazi ideology, Norway asserted its right to the South Pole and the Antarctic continent. Propaganda Minister Gulbrand Lunde claimed these territories as Norwegian Livsrom, arguing that centuries of Norwegian whaling and the historical conquest of the pole by Amundsen granted the nation exclusive sovereignty over the region.

Thai Territorial Ambitions during WW2 (from mild to extreme)

  • 1. Mild Claims: In the early 1940s, Thailand's initial demands focused on rectifying what it considered historical injustices by reclaiming Northern Cambodia, Northern Malay States, and Mekong/Salween Territories. Its also added the Koh Kong province that was also claimed but not given to Thailand
  • 2. The Lost Territories: The ideological core of Phibun Songkhram’s regime was the recovery of specific "lost territories" that had been ceded to colonial powers. These regions included Penang, the coastal Tenasserim, Laos, Cambodia, and Sipsongchutai in Vietnam.
  • 3. Claims on Shan, Karen and Xishuangbanna: Thailand's expansionist vision sought to incorporate ethnically related Tai populations. Phibun aggressively pushed for the acquisition of the Karen territories and the Shan State, though General Tojo rejected these requests to preserve the stability of the Burmese puppet state. The "Pan-Thai" irredentism also reached China, specifically targeting Sipsong Panna (Xishuangbanna) in Southern Yunnan.
  • 4. The Golden Peninsula: The regime utilized the mythologized concept of the Golden Peninsula (Laem Thong) as the foundation for a Greater Thai Empire. Developed by Luang Wichit Wathakan, this project envisioned the unfication of the Southeast Asia (Burma, Malay and Vietnam), claiming these nationalities were Thai by blood.
  • 5. Complete Thailand: Pan-Thai ideology extended far beyond Southeast Asia, identifying regions of East India and South China as an ancestral home of the Tai people. Using linguistic and ethnological maps, the regime claimed that the Thai nation comprised not just the 13 million people in Siam, but up to 60 million people scattered across the region, including millions in various Chinese provinces.

Axis Victory: All Endings for France (Revamped)

Original was taken down for "Low Effort" so I added regions, more cities and other countries frontiers.

  • 1. "Good" Ending (Compensated Alignment): In this scenario, France accepts the permanent loss of Alsace and Lorraine to the Reich. However, to make better collaboration and ensure French loyalty in the New Order, Hitler and officials like Admiral Darlan contemplate "compensating" France with new territories. These territories would include the annexation of Wallonia and Romandy. France, although fascist, will remain somewhat independent. France will also mantain its colonial empire with exception of old German colonies and some territories in Far East.
  • 2. Normal Ending (Strategic Amputation): France maintains virtual independence but suffers permanent territorial reductions. Italy fulfills its claims by annexing Nice, Corsica and Tunisia. Simultaneously, the Reich annexes the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais. France still gets Romandy in the split of Switzerland. France is left as a "second-rate power," military neutralized and economically dependent on Germany, it also loses French Equatorial Africa but retains West Africa and Algeria.
  • 3. Bad Ending (Extended Amputation): The Reich moves its western border significantly into French territory, following the "Zone Interdite" (Forbidden Zone), while Italy annexes parts of French Alpines (according to Plan B annexation plan), Spain gets French Catalonia and Basque. France loses its most productive industrial and mining basins. The eastern regiones annexed by the Reich, are detached to be "re-germanized" through colonization.
  • 4. Hell Ending (The Transformation into Gaul): France is completely dismantled as a national entity and renamed "Gaul". The official border is pushed all the way to the Loire River, the northern territory are distributed between the Reich, independent Brittany and Normandy, and the SS Burgund State. The remaining southern portion is reduced to a mere protectorate with its capital moved to Toulouse. All national symbols, including the tricolor flag and monuments to French glory, are systematically destroyed to erase the country's mentality and historical identity.

Norwegian Territorial Ambitions during WW2 (from mild to extreme)

  • Claims on Denmark: Vidkun Quisling and his party, Nasjonal Samling, envisioned the restoration of the medieval Norgesveldet. Their primary territorial ambitions focused on the recovery of what they termed "old Norwegian dependencies," which specifically included Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands.
  • Claims on Sweden: The territorial ambitions on Sweden were centered on the desire to reclaim provinces lost during the 17th century, this provinces were: Jämtland, Härjedalen and Bohuslän.
  • Claims on Kola Peninsula and Franz Josef Land: The Quisling Regime had claims on o this territories arguen that was part of Norwegian "Livsrom". The claims also include the region of Inari in Finland. According to Quisling, Finland was a non-germanic nation, thus no worthy of any territory on the artic.
  • Claims on United Kingdom: The Shetland, Orkney and Hebrides islands were considered part of the Livsrom since being considered part of the Old Norgesveldet. Minister Gulbrand Lunde proclaim more aggresive ambitions on Isle of Mann, Northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, arguing that Norwegians historically colonized these areas.
  • Bjarmaland: This was the project of a vast colony on Northen Russia. The borders of this colony were all north up to the Ural Mountains, to Lake Ladoga in the south or even far southern to Kirov city. This colony were pland to be settle by Norwegians, replacing the local population.
  • Claims on Antarctica: Minister Lunde had a massive claim on Antarctica justifying it by saying that Norwegians whalers had operated in those waters for centuries and that Roal Amundsen has discovered it first.

United Kingdom loses WW2: All Endings

  • 1. Good Ending (Hegemonic Alliance): Hitler long harbored a desire for an Anglo-German alliance, viewing the British as "racial brethren" and "kindred Aryan people". He envisioned a global division of labor where the British would be the "Aryans of the sea" while the Germans would be the "Aryans of the land". In this scenario, the British Empire would remain intact (except for Mediterranean and Far Eastern concessions) to help safeguard the "white race". The ultimate goal of this "Triple Alliance" (Germany, Italy, and Britain) was a future confrontation with the United States. Hitler dreamed that one day a joint German-British army would chase the Americans from Iceland and eventually cooperate to establish "Nordic-Germanic supremacy" over the entire world.
  • 2. Realistic Ending (Collaborative Sovereignty): If the UK capitulated, the Germans planned to install a pro-German government to ensure stability. The Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII) was frequently cited as the ideal candidate for a puppet sovereign, as Hitler and Ribbentrop considered him a friend of Germany. Leading the government would likely be Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists. Under this arrangement, the Channel Islands would be permanently annexed into the Reich as "Germanic micro-states" or strategic naval possessions, never to be returned to British rule.
  • 3. Bad Ending (The Maldon-Severn Line): In the event of a successful "Operation Sealion," the Germans intended to occupy only Southern England initially, establishing a military border along a line from Maldon to the Severn estuary. This southern zone would be under strict military government, while the north might be left as an "unoccupied zone" with capital in Oxford, similar to Vichy France. Since the occupiers found Mosley politically unreliable, they sought a more "sensible" figure like Sir Samuel Hoare or David Lloyd George to lead a puppet regime. Strategically, the Reich would annex the Orkney and Shetland Islands to serve as permanent naval bases. Additionally, Ireland would be united and ruled from Dublin under German "guidance" to ensure British weakness.
  • 4. Hell Ending (The Nationalities Plan): To secure permanent hegemony and prevent a British resurgence, Nazi planners like Werner Best (an SS legal expert) formulated a "Nationalities Policy"" (Nationalitätenpolitik) designed to fragment the United Kingdom. This plan involved the dissolution of the UK into its constituent parts: Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and Isle of Man. By breaking the country into small, autonomous entities, the Reich would effectively eliminate the UK as a unified political power.
  • 5. Nightmare Ending (German Gau): In the most extreme scenario, the entire United Kingdom would be incorportated diractly into the Greater Germanic Reich as a mere province or Gau. The country would lose all vestiges of sovereignty and be divided into Gaus.. German "Gauleiter" were already being trained in special leadership schools to administer these British provinces. The population would face dacronian measures, including the internment and deportation of all able-bodied men (ages 17–45) to the continent for forced labor, the systematic looting of art treasures, and the eventual extermination of the Jewish population.

Finnish Territorial Ambitios during WW2 (from mild to extreme)

  1. Natural Borders: Finland's primary objective was the establishment of "natural frontiers" that were geographically and strategically defensible. This plan focused on the annexation of East Karelia and the Kola Peninsula, extending the national boundary to the "three isthmuses" (Karelian, Olonets, and White Sea). Specifically, President Ryti and military leaders envisioned a border following the Neva River in the south, running along the southern shore of Lake Ladoga, following the Svir River to Lake Onega and finally reaching the White Sea along Onega River.

  2. Claims on Scandinavia: Radical nationalist groups, such as the Academic Karelia Society (AKS), looked toward Scandinavia to incorporate territories they believed belonged to the Finnic realm. These claims included the Finnmark region in northern Norway and Västerbotten in northern Sweden. Some extreme visions projected Finnish control extending as far as the port of Narvik.

  3. Claims on Estonia and Ingria: The vision of a Greater Finland frequently encompassed Estonia due to profound linguistic and cultural similarities. Ingria was also a significant target for annexation based on its historically Finnic population, with its boundaries at Volkhov River and Lake Ilmen. Finnish leaders shared Hitler's vision of the destruction of Leningrad, so it gets annihilated to oblivion.

  4. Claims on the Urals and Ob River: The most maximalist and utopian versions of the Greater Finland envisioned a Finnish empire stretching to the Ural Mountains and Ob River. Promoted by the Lapua Movement and radical ideologues, this plan aimed to unify Finno-Ugric tribes, like Komi, under Finnish leadership or protection. Risto Ryti privately made a map in 1942 that established a border south of Vologda to the Urals.

Romanian Territorial Ambitions during WW2 (from mild to extreme)

  1. Romania defined its fundamental geographical union within natural boundaries consisting of the Tisza River to the west, the Danube to the south, and the Dniester to the east.

  2. Following the onset of the war in the east, the "natural" border of Romania was pushed beyond the Dniester to the Bug River. Antonescu justified the occupation of this space by citing the presence of local Romanian minorities and the need for a security glacis against Russia.

  3. Romania maintained a strategic interest in the Carpatho-Ukraine (Ruthenia) and Pocutia to establish a direct land connection with Germany and Slovakia. Antonescu specifically requested Pocutia to extend the common border with the Reich through occupied Poland.

  4. Imperialist circles around Antonescu envisioned a frontier reaching the Dnieper as a natural border. This river represented the maximalist limit for a projected "Dacian Empire".

  5. Romania also put forward claims to the Crimea, with some sectors of the regime viewing the peninsula as a potential compensation for the loss of Northern Transylvania. However, Hitler refused these aspirations, intending to keep Crimea as a direct German military colony known as "Gotenland".

  6. The Antonescu government proposed a "Latin Corridor" or "Latin Barrier" through the Timok and Vardar valleys to link Romania territorially with Greater Albania and Italy. This geopolitical project included an ambition for domain and sovereignty over a strip reaching the port of Thessaloniki to secure a maritime outlet to the Aegean and protect Aromanian populations.

  7. Under the influence of the Iron Guard, the regime fostered the mystical idea of a "Dacian Empire" stretching from the Balkans to the Dnieper. As part of this national rebirth, they planned to found a new capital city named Codreni in honor of their martyred leader, Corneliu Codreanu. The location of Codreni was to be determined by forming an equilateral triangle on the map of Europe with a base line between Rome and Berlin, placing the new capital at the exact center of Romanian mainland.
