Mengjiang Ambitions during WW2 (Greater Mongolia)
During the Second Sino-Japanese War, the puppet regime of Mengjiang under Demchugdongrob (who called himself descendant of Genghis Khan) has the ambitions of create a Greater Mongolia.
- Outer Mongolia: Obviously the main goal was to unify the two Mongolias under his rule. He viewed the Soviet-backed Mongolian State as a territory that needed to be "liberated" and reunited with its Inner Mongolian brethren. Japanese military officials encouraged these claims, promising that the Imperial Army would eventually recover the region and install him as the "emperor of all Mongolia".
- Manchukuo: Demchugdongrob also claimed the four provinces of Hsingan in Manchukuo on the basis of Mongolians living there. The Japenese rejected this claims as for mantaining the integrity of its puppet.
- China: There were extreme claims on conquering Xinjiang, Gansu and Qinghai. Demchugdongrob called these regions "Upper Mongolia" and said that there were living up to one million mongolians.
- Russia: The main goal against Russian land was to take Buryatia and the territories around Lake Baikal, which should be a Mongolian lake. Tuva was also envisioned as parto of Mongolians Natural Borders.
