My wife is a naturalist, the only show we let our four-year-old watch is Puffin Rock, and I’m an amateur trad musician whose mother is from Longford. We’re planning a trip to Ireland from the US, arriving July 26 and leaving August 6.
We are hoping to go to the Saltee Islands on July 29 to see at least one puffin (seems most child-friendly option), travel to Longford to visit my mother’s birthplace, and make it to Belfast for a few days of the Fleadh Cheoil and a Giants Causeway tour.
My question is, what are our odds of seeing a puffin on the Saltees that late in July? Is it worth trying?
