friend scammed by homeless woman at target

homeless-looking lady with an unknown accent approached my friend (who doesn't use reddit) at target (the one by tyler mall) and asked for a blanket for her family. my friend, who is unfortunately gullible, agreed and went inside with her.

she ended up picking out a $75 blanket, even after asking "oh can we get these too? :)" for some like, pillow covers or something? and i was just like, aghast when she told me. unfortunately lesson learned, please don't get on her in the comments, she was naive and now she knows better.

apparently people already know about the scam but i'm letting folks know it's still going. not sure my friend can get her money back. please be careful!

sometimes i wonder if i actually have IBS

what i'm bothered by varies SO much. like, for example: i can tolerate garlic and onion MUCH more than most people, which is WEIRD. i don't think i've seen a single IBS sufferer on this sub not have garlic/onion as their mortal enemies. i also am good with wheat it seems, but not so much oat.

but, chicory root? oh, no thank you. vanilla? please no. high fructose corn syrup? ☠️ soybeans (or even just too much soy milk)? ow ow ow. dairy? please just kill me now. (but i can do aged cheeses or even colby jack in smaller portions ok!)

but because i'm not fucked up by the "big 2" garlic and onion, i always question if maybe i have something else going on...

🫠 blegh. is anyone else suffering from equally weird & selective triggers?

romantic boy names preferably starting with c?

hello! looking for suggestions for a name that can replace cassius. i liked the name so much i ended up, um... taking it for myself 😅 so now i have to rename this character!!

the closest names i've considered are claude or cillian, but i don't want to use claude really (it just doesn't quite feel right) and i'm not sure cillian is quite right either. i'm thinking soft, and cassius is a very "soft" name in the way it rolls off the tongue (at least how i pronounce it, cass-ee-us). claude has a hard stop and cillian isn't as hard, but it still does too. so i'm struggling a bit...

thank you!

edit: the last name for the character is "lestrade". so something that similarly rolls off the tongue like cassius lestrade would be nice! i also have a list of names i like that i've been peering over, but so far nothing has jumped out to me as working well. here it is (always expanding)

crossed out names are unavailable!

silly question: what can i put on a potluck invitation for kosher rules?

hello! i am holding a potluck for my birthday in a week, and i want to list the restrictions necessary for something to be kosher as part of the dietary restrictions needed in the potluck invitation, rather than simply stating "- kosher" since some people don't always know what that entails.

so, just to be safe, i wanted to ask you lovely folks what the best way this would be for me to put this down on my little invitation, especially as a non-jewish individual. (my sister-in-law is jewish, but she's too busy for me to ask!)

thank you! ❤️

hello! i have a mobility scooter that was covered by my insurance, and it's fantastic! i only have a few issues with it; mainly that the front basket is tiny, and more importantly... the horn is blisteringly sharp. i've attached a video, but WARNING: IT'S LOUD!

does anyone have any suggestions on how i can try to change the horn to something that won't hurt my ears as much? i have hyperacusis, so it's even worse for me.

here's the scooter itself

thanks!

so, my brother talked me into switching from clay litter to wood pellets awhile back. we finally made the switch recently, and i've quickly discovered that i hate it. my nose hates it. my chronic migraines hate it.

evidently, i have a much stronger nose than literally everyone else, because that catbox constantly smells like piss. and this is even after it's been cleaned—including with liners!

i clean it right after my kitten goes? urine stink for hours.

kitten uses the box while i'm asleep? i get woken up by the stink.

i leave it be or shake/scrape the pellets so that they fall into the bottom layer of the catbox? still reeks of urine. i can't win.

and it's not like my kitten's urine just magically started reeking the moment we switched to this litter; the smell just isn't properly getting dealt with like my brother swore it would at all, regardless of my own attempts to maintain it. he seems to think it would be better based off of my caregiver's testimony, forgetting the fact that she has eight cats and is self-admitted to being noseblind to all forms of cat stink as a result.

i just can't. because even if i do become noseblind, my head will still be affected by the severity of the smell. idk how my brother can't smell it.

we try to change the liners twice a week, and that was after i made it clear to my caregiver (who helps me) that "once or twice a month" was not going to cut it.

help. help me. please. i can't do this

edit: i use a sifting stainless steel cat box that was gifted to me (warning: amazon link, that's just where i found the same product by searching)
