Will I be eligible for TCS NQT again after rejecting Smart Ignite offer earlier?
So I’m a BCA student (2025 passout) and I gave the TCS Smart Ignite exam in May 2025. I received my offer letter in January 2026 and accepted it. My joining date was March 5.
Initially, I was not very satisfied with the salary offered for BCA students, so I was already having second thoughts. But later I started reconsidering joining.
Then, just 2 days before my joining date, my grandfather passed away. At that time I genuinely was not mentally ready to join. I informed HR through mail that I would not be able to join and also mentioned that I was pursuing higher studies (which is true currently I’m in 2nd semester MCA). I also filled the “not joining” option in their survey/form.
Now TCS is coming to our campus again for TCS NQT for the 2027 batch (my MCA batch), and the roles include Ninja, Digital, and Prime.
My concern is: will I still be eligible to sit for the process again, or does rejecting/not joining Smart Ignite earlier make me permanently ineligible?
I asked my TPO, but even they are not sure. Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows TCS policy regarding this?
