My dappled willow that I bought last year at Home Depot has not leafed out yet. I’m thinking that “It’s dead, Jim”. It’s sending up suckers, but nothing from the graft. This tree was a replacement for one I purchased the year prior. Will third time be the charm? I really like the look, and I need an interesting tree in that size for the spot it is in. Maybe buy the next one from Bachman’s? What has been everyone’s experience with Dappled Willows?

EDIT: it has been properly watered, and the soil has been amended and fed. The garden that it is in looks great- the tree, not so much.

EDIT 2. The variety is zoned 4a. I live in 4b

I went to the Hennepin Tech College sale yesterday (great sale BTW). I put all my new purchases on my front porch, and covered them up last night. Unfortunately, my sweet potato vine ended up looking very sad. It is supposed to be 35 overnight. Should I cover again, or bring them into the garage?
