Hulk Smash Burger

Ingredients

For the patties:

•	\~600g lean ground beef

•	1 egg

•	Salt

•	Pepper

•	Ground black garlic

•	Umami powder

For the toppings / assembly:

•	Crispy lettuce

•	1 red onion

•	Peperoncino

•	Creamy havarti cheese, sliced

•	Brioche buns

•	Ketchup

•	Mustard

•	Mayo

•	Butter (for the pan)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.

  2. Wash and prep your toppings:

- Slice the lettuce

- Slice the red onion

- Get your peperoncino ready

  1. Beat 1 egg in a small bowl.

  2. In a large bowl, add the ground beef, beaten egg, salt, pepper, black garlic, and umami powder.

  3. Mix everything together well with your hands, then form the meat into small balls — about the size of a clementine.

  4. Heat a pan or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of butter and let it get nice and hot.

  5. Place one meat ball into the pan and immediately smash it down with a burger press (or anything flat and sturdy).

  6. Cook each patty for about 4–5 minutes per side.

  7. When the patties are almost done, add a slice of havarti on top so it melts.

  8. While the burgers cook, put your brioche buns in the oven for a few minutes until golden.

  9. To assemble:

- Add ketchup, mustard, and mayo to the bottom bun

- Stack 2 cheesy smash patties

- Add lettuce and red onion

- Bite the tip off the peperoncino, squeeze a bit of the juice over the patties, then slice it up and add it on top

  1. Serve and enjoy.
