Ariel and her voice

After watching a video about ursula's song, I realized that Ariel remained silent throughout, and later in the movie, she never even tried to write. Many people wonder and mock why she didn't write, since she knew how, as was shown when she signed the contract. But upon reflection, I realized she followed Ursula's advice: "Up there, it's preferred that ladies not converse." And since Ariel knew nothing about humans, she followed her advice. And I have to admit that Ursula was right (how I love-hate that villains are always right, damn it!), because Eric gave her everything: a room, clothes, luxuries. He wanted to marry her when he barely knew her, and he didn't care that she couldn't speak. So in summary: Ariel didn't say anything during Ursula's manipulative song because she was listening to it and remembering her advice: "don't speak/communicate if you want to be appreciated up there" so she decided never to write or try to speak.
