I’m beyond frustrated at this point.

I already posted this in r/legal. I’m just looking for a place to bring my blood pressure down…we’re in Ca.

Timeline (condensed):

•	2019: HOA (nonprofit mutual benefit corp) became “FTB/SOS Suspended” (public record).

•	2019–present: Still operating like nothing’s wrong — collecting dues, spending funds, holding meetings.

•	\~2013–present: No Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance.

•	Oct 2025 (when I found out everything)–present: I’ve sent multiple formal written requests (including certified mail) asking for basic records — financials, tax filings, insurance, reinstatement status.

•	Feb 2026 meeting minutes: Board openly acknowledges:

•	They’ve been suspended since 2019

•	Reinstatement is still pending

•	They kept collecting/spending money anyway

•	They chose not to get insurance because it’s “too expensive”

•	After I started asking questions: The HOA president’s tone shifted — dismissive, intimidating, and still continuing with what feels like harassment/retaliation.

What’s wild to me:

•	They’re operating without legal standing

•	Refusing to provide records they’re legally supposed to

•	No insurance, so homeowners are potentially exposed

•	Yet still acting like they have full authority to enforce rules and collect money

•	And somehow I’m the problem for asking basic questions??

I’ve already sent letters to the City Attorney, CA Attorney General, and CA Dept. of Real Estate, but honestly this whole situation is just exhausting.

Just needed to get this off my chest because the lack of accountability is unreal. And they are STILL CONTINUING TO THREATEN US WITH RULE VIOLATIONS.
