Blade Profile for 11 Y/O Defenseman?

Hey, I have an 11 year old son that plays defense. He is a pretty good skater for his age, fast and agile with quick powerful strides. He's not a huge kid for his age, average height and weight.

I HAD to buy some new Step Steel for his Jetspeed skates, the CCM XS steel is garbage!!! I needed something that holds a good edge for longer than 2 skates and doesn't get nicked up every time he plays a game.

He has only ever skated on the stock 10' or so radius that the XS blades come with. Has anybody else ever tried their 11 year old son with a blade Profile? Being a d-man should I be looking at a quad profile first to try? I don't think he should be on anything like a Zuperior as he's not a all out forward. He is a good skating, puck moving Defenseman who can win races to the puck and go coast to coast like buttered toast occasionally.

What do you guys think a good starting profile would be? Thanks

Hello, I have a 2016 Ford F150 XLT Crew Cab, 5'6" bed and the 5.0L Coyote engine in it. The engine currently has about 112,000 miles or 180,000 kms because I am in Canada. This truck has been very well taken care of and I am the second owner of the vehicle, I know the original owner very well and he's very good with maintenance.

My wife and I have decided that I am going to drive this truck into the ground! I want to pick an oil that is readily available for me at my local Walmart or Canadian Tire. I am assuming I should probably switch to a "high mileage" oil to get the benefits of the seal conditioners and sludge cleaning detergents although knock on wood this truck has never burned oil. Being located in Canada, cold starts are a thing we see frequently and often up here. I also want to say I don't put a lot of mileage on this truck, I'd say about 10,000 to 12,000 miles a year and I change my oil Twice a year when I swap snow and summer tires. So each oil change sees about 6000 miles MAX and usually not even that.

Now I am not opposed to buying good quality oil as my friend has a shop and he changes the oil for me for $20 service fee. Am I throwing my money away by buying the best quality oil if I change it every 5000 miles anyways? Is it a good idea to switch to high mileage oil and stick with it from now on? I want to stick to the same oil so when I buy 10 quarts and only use 8 for my oil change I can just use the leftover 2 on the next change instead of mixing and matching what was on sale that week. I should also mention I have been buying the Mobil 1 extended life oil filter and running that usually. Here is a list of the high mileage oils I usually see available and on rotating sales in my area.

  1. Super Tech High Mileage Full Synthetic

  2. Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage

  3. Castrol Edge High Mileage

  4. Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage

I don't see a Quaker State high mileage or Valvoline usually at Canadian Tire and I'm going to bot even include Amsoil or Royal Purple because they are too difficult to source reliably here and they don't have 5 quart jugs here in Canada.

What do you guys think? If you were to switch to one of these which one would it be and why? I can also get the regular full synthetic brands of these companies but I just quotes the high mileage because my truck has high mileage. Thanks
