go to morocco?
9 months ago, i applied for a short term study abroad trip in Thailand for 2 weeks. a couple days ago, its been revealed that we can’t go because of the conflict in the middle-east.
instead of completely cancelling the trip (especially since i paid for it all), we’re now going to Morocco.
i’m kind of conflicted about this, because while it’s still a beautiful and culture-rich country, it’s way different than Thailand. going from a beachy Thailand trip to a deserty trip to Morocco is quite the difference lol.
We are planning on going to Marrakech (sightseeing), Rabat (sightseeing/museums), and a day trip to Meknes (a museum and world heritage site). From there, we’ll go to Fez (sightseeing and museums), and Agafey (camel riding).
There’s a lot of museums and temples that we’re going to, which is fun and all, but i wanted to do more fun stuff. in Thailand, we were going to go to the beach, an ethical elephant sanctuary, a dinner cruise, cooking class with a village tribe, and more. museums are cool, but i wanted to do more exciting things like what i listed for Thailand.
I’m extremely grateful that i’m still able to go somewhere, but i feel kind of ripped off and disappointed. i spent ~9 months planning and researching for Thailand, and now im suddenly leaving for Morocco in 4 weeks.
what do you guys think of this itinerary? should i just go, or get my money back and have fomo at home. i want to go, but im disappointed in the itinerary.
thank you!!
