Can I get revenge on my managers from chipotle?
In high school, I (M 18) worked at chipotle primarily as a dishwasher. I had two managers let’s call them Barry (M 18) and Hailey (F 19). Barry was the apprentice to the GM and Hailey was just a SL. Our GM, let’s call him Jose, was a very strict, but nice and understanding man. Barry was very nice when I first started working there but a couple months in his whole personality flipped. He became a very short tempered a rude person overall. I learned that his dad kicked him out of his house so he had to get an apartment, which he had to pay for, and go to a local community college rather than the 4 year he was planning on going to.
Here’s where it gets interesting. Around 3 months after I started working there, I saw Barry and Hailey together at a local mall. I went up to them and they were visibly nervous/looked like they got caught. They explained to me that they were dating and not to tell Jose because it wasn’t okay for Barry to be dating Hailey since there was a difference in rank/managerial level if that makes sense. Barry was Hailey’s boss so it was not allowed for them to be dating. I promised I wouldn’t say anything because I am a nice person. At the time I didn’t realize it but I had all the leverage. I had them wrapped around my finger. Jose was a very strict GM so he wouldn’t like this news of his apprentice dating his SL. Me being a naive 18-19 y/o at the time, I had no clue I could ruin their lives.
The following months after this were literal hell at me for work. I was ridiculed daily by Barry and Hailey. They were just awful people who were extremely disrespectful and rude. They would yell at you in front of coworkers and customers with no shame. There were multiple instances where I was begged to come into work early or on my day off and I obliged. When I came in however, I was treated awfully. Yelled at and told how bad of a worker I was. This is ironic considering they BEGGED me to come in on my day off and I graciously accepted. Bullshit but not the point.
This is where it all bubbled over. One day me and a couple of coworkers were talking about prom. My coworker who was friends with Hailey slips up and said something along the lines of “Hailey are you excited to go to prom with Barry?”. This was said in front of some other coworkers who did not know that they were dating. Upon hearing this, I exclaimed, “Oh yea are you excited Hailey?”. Hailey’s face instantly turned red and she walked away. I, confused on what just happened, asked my coworker and she explained how she slipped up and said that in front of people who did not already know. I honestly did not think it was that big of a deal because they didn’t seem to react or even hear our conversation. I went on my lunch 5 minutes later and when I got back, Barry was blowing up my phone telling me how wrong i was to talk about their relationship at work. I wasn’t the one who brought it up, I just made a comment about it. I return to the store after my break and Hailey instantly starts ripping me a new one. She’s yelling at me like she’s never yelled before. Ordering me to do a list of tasks that I had never really done before/been in charge of. It was obvious that she was pissed the fuck off (as usual) and she was taking all her anger out on me, but not on her friend who actually spilt the beans.
This is not the only instance of them yelling/getting into my face and I have screenshot proof of angry text messages. They would tell me I was the laziest worker they’ve ever had and how useless I was. Really ironic because they were always asking me to come in early and stay late which I always agreed to. At the time I was just a naive 18-19 y/o and I had no clue that this type of stuff was not normal. I regret not snapping back and calling the GM directly or even his boss. Barry and Hailey made my life HELL and I am not just realizing it.
I don’t know if either of them work at chipotle anymore but I want to make their lives HELL for how they treated me in the past. No one deserves to be treated the way I was treated. It is incredibly inhumane and demoralizing. They are genuinely the worst people I’ve met and I have so much regret for how badly I could’ve ruined their lives. I couldn’t told the GM and got both of them fired but I didn’t because Barry told me how badly he needed this job to pay rent and for community college. I was wya too nice to these fuckers who were absolutely awful to me. I have so much regret and so much more of the story has not been told. So is there anyway I can ruin their lives?
