Why are so many gas stations closed for construction simultaneously?
The Shell on Park Ave in Glenview, the one on the corner of MacArthur and Oakland Ave, the one on Grand Ave up the street from the theater - they all are closed off with huge holes in the ground. Coincidence or something else going on?
Edit: I don't need any more replies. Here's the answer provided by u/sfo2.
> New law went into effect on Jan 1 making older single wall underground tanks illegal. Any station that wants to continue operating has to replace their tanks.
