Egg retrieval results!
AHHHH. I’m 29F, just a week shy of my 30th birthday. Started out with 29 follicles at baseline. I’ve been extensively tested for PCOS and don’t have PCOS. 3.6 AMH. So my doctor was very cautious, and put me on lower dose stims. He made me feel like I had a chance at getting 20+ eggs.
Well come to find out, during stims..my left ovary is a lazy passenger princess. Even though I had 15+ follicles on it at baseline, only 4 grew to mature range. Go ahead girl and give us nothing.
I spent a few days of stims down on myself for thinking I’d get a good amount of eggs, and feeling silly for those expectations. Well…my retrieval was yesterday, and we got 18 eggs after last counting only 13 mature follicles. I went home thinking surely there would be a big drop off in mature eggs.
Of those 18, 16 were mature and 15 fertilized!! I’m over the moon. Now if I can only get my adenomyosis uterus to cooperate 😭 Thanks for listening.
