Just a PSA for anyone heading to Bali: be incredibly careful, even when you think you’re safely across the road.

I got hit by a motorbike. I was already off the road with one foot down when he smashed into my shoulder and leg. The worst part wasn't even the impact, it was the fact that the rider didn't stop, look back, or offer a single word of apology. I was standing there in total shock, and he just kept going like nothing happened.

I spent the rest of my trip having a difficult time even stepping off the curb. The anxiety of trying to cross the road after that was huge.

Is the lack of accountability common, or did I just have a run of terrible luck? Stay safe out there.
