Hardtop Issues
Hi all,
First time poster. Hoping to hear everyone’s thoughts on the cluster I currently have going on…
Bought my 2024 Bronco Big Bend brand new in April 2024. Total dream car, have loved every moment of owning it. Last month I noticed cracking along the middle panel of my hardtop. Took it into the dealer, he said it was delamination, they replaced the panel with a new one. I noticed from the outside that the new middle panel seemed to sit just a tad lower than my front panels— pic 3, with my OG it was completely flat— but I figured that was to be expected when you replace one panel of the set. Otherwise, all seemed well. Important note….. when replacing the panel, they did not remove my Spider sun shade that I keep layered under my hard top year-round.
Well, yesterday evening I took my car through the car wash (GA pollen season 🤢) and noticed I had water on my center console. Immediately thinking about suspiciously uneven panels. I had taken this car through the car wash at least 25 times with my OG panel and NEVER had this happen. I make a service appointment and decide I’m going to go home and remove my sunshade so I can get a clear look at the seam where the panels meet. Lo and behold, I remove the sunshade and the felt lining is coming unglued from the panel they just replaced. My only thought is like… wtf?
So, my Bronco friends, have I gotten myself into an endless saga? I WILL be going back until everything is as it should be, but has anyone gone through something similar?
