makeup placement tips for shortening the face

ive noticed that a lot of makeup tutorials i have watched always try to elongate the face and it doesn't work for my face at all. for example putting the blush in a c shape going towards the temples. i know it would look better for me if i place it more horizontally but im still experimenting with the best way to do this.

i really struggle with concealer though. im black and the tutorials i see blend the concealer in a large triangle from the undereyes to just above the lip to highlight those areas. again this makes my face too long, but im not sure how to still get dimension without doing this kind of placement.

does anyone have any advice, for the concealer or other makeup items generally? thank you

should i get microbladed (or powder) brows?

hi, i was wondering if i could ask for some advice on my brows, and whether microblading or ombre brows could be an option.

they are very uneven, my face is uneven in general. the hairs are very sparse but grow over a very wide distance on my face (like down to my eyelid). ive had them threaded a few times and the threader always seems to make the difference between them even more prominent. then ive tried plucking them myself but i just cant make it work. i fill them in with pencil when i leave the house but it is so frustrating and takes ages, and im never happy with the result.

so i have considered permanent makeup, if it went right it would make my life a lot easier. however, i have dehydrated skin and my forehead is particularly oily. i have a lot of hyperpigmentation and may wish to use retinoids again for treatment. and obviously have dark skin. but i have also seen a lot of horror stories and would lose my mind if i hated them and had to get them removed.

i also dont understand what happens to the actual hair? like do people just continuously pluck anything outside of the microbladed brow?

anyway i would appreciate some advice on whether it could be an option for me or if it's a terrible idea, thank you.
