Is Cork a good city for exchange (erasmus) student? (Student life&safety)

Hi everyone

I’m considering going on an Erasmus exchange to Cork and wanted to hear some honest opinions about the city itself.

  1. What is Cork like overall as a student city?

  2. How is student life (social life, activities, atmosphere)?

I’m also curious about safety:

  1. Is Cork generally safe, especially for female students?

  2. Would it feel okay to walk alone, go for a walk, or spend time alone in cafes, etc.? (Cause I enjoy spending me time alone lol)

For context, I’m an international student from Asia and I’ve done an exchange in Europe before, so I’m somewhat familiar with the environment, but every city is different.

I’d really appreciate any insights or personal experiences.

Thanks :)
