Moses & The Burning Bush

From the Bible there is a story about the prophet Moses's encounter with God through a bush that burns without being consumed. God commands Moses to return to Egypt and free the slaves. He asserts to Moses “I AM THAT I AM.”

I know this is a trope that people are prone to roll their eyes at but I’m actually quite pleased with Sam using this “faith” or “divine purpose” concept as an analogy for relinquishing trauma and developing autonomy in your life. It aligns narratively with offhand statements Rue has made about God, particularly in her conversations with Ali, and the core tenets of the 12 step program. My question is how are they going to expand on this if the show somehow does get renewed. Feels like a final season premise.
