Good morning prospective Starfinders!

I am currently looking to start a new campaign with a full crew of up to 5 players. 

Here’s the thing, I am brand new to Starfinder, so I am hoping to run this in two different phases, outlined below. I am looking to learn this system alongside some new players or even experienced players who have the patience to work with me as I learn.

About the story - Murder in Metal City:
A strange message beckons strangers to Striving, an expansive megaplex city on Aballon, the planet of Machines. There, they gather in a neon-lit cafe, surrounded by androids and robots, to meet an old friend. The bartender brings them refreshments—and a holographic recording from their mutual acquaintance.

"Greetings, friends! If you’re watching this, it’s because I’ve experienced an unexpected shutdown—in organic terms, I’m dead."

The discovery of their friend’s unexpected murder turns these strangers into a crew of unlikely investigators. To find the killer, they’ll need to outrun murderous robots, outwit clever foes, and analyze perplexing clues—all while wondering if they’re hunting the murderer, or if the murderer is hunting them! The streets of Striving can be an unforgiving place, and the investigators will need all their skills, resources—and no small amount of luck—to come out ahead, solve the murder, find the killer’s hideout, and bring them to justice!

About Me:

• My name is Austin (He/Him) , from Ontario, Canada
• I am 35 years old
• I have about 12 years of experience with TTRPGs, mostly as a DM.
• I have a pretty busy office job in education. I am technically on-call all week, 6AM to midnight, interruptions rarely occur, and anything that does come up usually is minor and will take less than 5-10 minutes.
• Video games are something I am very passionate about, you’ll probably see me in Discord playing whatever is popular at the moment. 
• I am a big traveler, my partner and I just got back from Spain with plans to get back on a plane as soon as possible! 
• I love coffee, Formula 1, soccer (football) and pretty much anything you would consider nerdy!

About You:

• No previous experience required
• 20+.
• English speaking
• Able to consistently commit to sessions (session details below).
• Be willing to put time into your character and the game. 
• Have a clear microphone and no background noise during sessions.
• Willing to be engaged in the game, be committed to the campaign and converse in and out of the game.
• I am going to try to post on the Discord channel regularly. I want to have engagement and conversation between sessions. The hope is we get to know each other along the way.
• Be patient and willing to learn the game.
• I would love to hear more about you in the application!

 

The Game:

• Starfinder 2e 
• No in game or out of game bullying/racism/harassment/etc.
• I do my best to make each NPC you encounter sound unique and different, unfortunately, I have ZERO talent when it comes to doing voices, but I will still always try and am usually pretty light hearted about it!
• I try to follow the “rule of cool” as much as possible, but won’t let it break the game.
• While I'd prefer to play in a game with no AI, it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Phase 1:

• Running Murder in Metal City - a pre-written AP by Paizo.
• Character options will be limited to the Starfinder Primer for this adventure, let’s keep things simple for the first AP

Phase 2:

• Running a longer length AP (Either Guilt of the Grave World or Tales from the Vast Adventure Anthology)
• Will likely open up the character options at that time

Sessions:

• Sessions will be every other week.
• Sessions will take place on alternating Tuesdays from 5:30 to 9:00/9:30 PM EST.
• These times and dates are concrete.
• Looking to start in early-mid May

 Technology / Programs

• We are going to start with Roll20 and Demiplane - They link together to make things a bit easier. This may change as my preferred platform is FoundryVTT
• Voice will be done over Discord, which is where all of the between session conversations will be held.
• Discord is where I will post all of the information for the campaign/game etc.

• Please complete this form, this is a Google Form that I will review within the next week or so.
• This is not first-come-first-serve, and I will be taking applications until I’m completely sure I have everyone I need to start. If the post doesn’t say “Closed”, it’s still open.
