We’re visiting Corolla for the first time the first week of June. We’ve never been to the Outer Banks and will be driving there from Northern Virginia.

I originally booked the house Saturday to Saturday, but there is actually some wiggle room in the rental calendar (like we could check in on a Sunday or Monday instead). I’m thinking of doing this if traffic is already bad the first week of June but I’m not sure when the terrible summer traffic really starts. I definitely do not want to be stuck in traffic with our carsick dog any longer than necessary but maybe traffic isn’t terrible yet the first week of June?
