First board!

Finally decided to get my first mechanical keyboard and I couldn't be happier 😄

Went with Monsgeek M1 V5 Via in ISO layout with rosewood switches and chose some great PBT keycaps from AliExpress

I'm buying my first mechanical keyboard as my shitty standard one has finally died.

I can't find something that meets all my requirements. As it will be my only keyboard I really want to get something I love.

Looking for:

  1. UK ISO layout

  2. Aluminium case

  3. At least 75%

  4. Knob (or at least dedicated volume control)

  5. Ideally in the £90 - £120 range but I can stretch to £150 if it's perfect

  6. Option for wired (likely won't be moving it from my desk)

  7. Fun colourways (subjective but I hate standard black and white)

I love the look of a lot of ANSI boards but I know I'd get annoyed with the caps being wrong or having to switch the language.

I do not care about RGB

Closest I've found is the Evo 75/80 but no knob/volume control is disappointing. I've heard a lot about Keychron but there's so many options that it's a bit confusing.

I am open to building my board but it's quite intimidating. Monsgeek M1 V5 ISO bare bones seems best and I've found a good deal but I'm lost from there. Would I just need to add switches and key caps? Is there any recs for UK keycaps?
