What if Earth stopped orbiting the Sun but kept rotating? What would happen to life on Earth?
Inspired by another hypothetical about what would happen if Earth stopped rotating, I want to know: what would happen if the Earth stopped orbiting and became locked in one place on its existing orbital path?
In this hypothetical Earth would still rotate as normal, but we would lose all ties to the 'year' or the seasons. What might happen? To our environment? To humans?
