Structural engineers survey?

we are buying a house and following the survey we have been advised to get out a structural engineer, regarding some cracks and potential window issues.

a company has suggested they would do a visual inspection on the exterior cracks only - does this sound right?

emulsion brand help

HI all,

can someone help explain the optimal emulsion to use for general walls in a ’normal room’ (bedrooms/lounge, we know to use bathroom stuff there)

we are buying a house that will need cracks filling and basically entirely repainting, I’m familiar with ’you get what you pay for logic’ in that if we use the cheapest white emulsion we might need 8 coats, so usually the cheap cheap is a false economy, so we’ve been looking at using a delux or crown, but i saw a recent post about delux trade and johnstones washable stuff - the delux trade being about 2x the price and johnstones being 10x

- what is the line between paint cost vs being a better/easies to work with, am I missing something with the trade paints (like you actually dilute them or something) and is delux trade vs delux worth the extra (will it take much less coats or dry to a much better longer lasting finish)
