Setting Up Starlink - No Internet Connection
My place of work has terrible cellular data connection, so if the WiFi fails, we’re out of luck. We bought Starlink as a backup due to an important project happening this week, but I was struggling to set it up yesterday. And of course, today, my boss texts that the normal WiFi is down. So while I plan to try again when I’m there, I might not be able to reach Reddit to troubleshoot. But if anyone has any suggestions of what to try, I would appreciate it.
Situation so far: when I plug everything in, Starlink appears as a WiFi option in my settings with 2 bars/rings. But as the app tries to connect, it goes to “no Internet connection.”
I’ve tried:
- Moving the kickstand to a spot the app said was “great!”
- Using different outlets
- Unplugging and plugging in plugs
- Using a paper clip to “reset” the router
I’m not sure if the router has had any lights lit up on the front. I plan to check when I’m there, and I know if there are no lights, the router might be bad. But if there’s anything else I can try, I would appreciate the suggestions. (And thanks for reading this far!)
