(Loved Trope) An immensely talented character tries to pursue a new passion or interest. They are terrible at it.

  1. Metro Man (Mega Mind): hero of Metro City who, after years of successful superheroics, fakes his death to write and perform music. He has zero talent as a musician or songwriter.

  2. Dr. Tobias Funke (Arrested Development): When shown practicing therapy, he is actually very competent and skilled. His acting, though, is uniformly cringeworthy.

  3. Narsus (Heroic Legend of Arslan): brilliant military strategist, his artistic works leave much to be desired.
