Grieving Weekend

Hi all,

Unsure if the post is permitted.

But if anywhere will understand what I'm going through it's here.

Took my baby, Minty Fiat 500 to the garage last week as it's been locking into first gear and sometimes not getting out.

Prognosis is:

The gear box has been contaminated.

The timing belt needs replacing - which is normal wear and tear.

The oil sump is rusty out, it's flaking away. Which near the sea is understandable.

Mechanic is pricing all this up.

But I think it's time to part ways.

So much has gone wrong in a short space of time.

Previous to this, I paid for new gear cable and replaced the bushing. As the gears snapped driving home one evening.

I have only had it for 2.5 years. Everything going wrong happened at the start of this year.

It's 9 years old and I am the 3rd owner.

Only 91km on the clock.

I'm devastated to say goodbye to it.

It's such a fun, bright and cheerful car.

Perfect for parking and navigating small country roads.

I love seeing people's faces light up as I pass.

But I feel it's not reliable and I'm worried more could go wrong even if it's fixed.

I've been looking at other cars.

Maybe moving away from Fiats.

Which is so soul crush.

They are all these awful oversized big SUV boxes lacking any character or exciting colours.

Or

Just boring ugly small cars.

Just basic.

Every time I think of getting one of these instead of a snazzy Fiat, I die a little inside.

Anyway.

A moment's silence for Minty 😭

Hi all,

Looking for some reassurance and help.

I bought two of these raised plastic trough planters from Aldi.

78 X 39 X H 84 cm and 50 litre capacity.

The cover sits 21cm on top of the main planter.

The depth of the main planter empty is 25cm.

Can I.

Put my Tenderstem broccoli and Okra in one?

Or

Separate them out?

See picture of current seedling haul.

Thinking they will get too big or high for this type of set up?

Would buckets or those builder tubs inside be better or grow bags?

I do have an outside raised bed, but live near the sea.

I know the Okra wouldn't do well outside.

Also have chives, spinach, basil and Thai basil.

But guess that would be over crowded.

Maybe buy another one.

Thanks in advance.
