Toe box height in Lone Peak 9+

Hey everyone! I recently bought the Altra Lone Peak 9+. They’re great trail shoes — wide, comfortable, and overall they fit really well.

The only issue is that on my left foot, the edge/top side of my big toe touches the upper of the shoe. I’ve tried different socks: with merino Bridgedale socks, the feeling is softer, but I can still feel the upper. With thin cotton socks, I feel it too, and it actually feels a bit harsher.

If I remove the insoles, my toe no longer touches the upper. So it seems like I’m missing just a bit of toe box height in one specific spot, right above the big toe.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? How did you solve it? Is it possible to stretch or lift that specific area by a couple of millimeters?

Thanks!
