Planning to File for VAWAA
Hi, i have been in the US for almost 1 year and 2 months. I have been traveling back and forth in the US since 2010. I met my husband and we visited back and forth, me to the US and him to my home country. Dating since 2024 and we did a shotgun wedding in april 2025 since he didnt want me to go home anymore. He said we would file for adjustment so I can work and start my life with him in the US. I fixed the papers already. We are ONLY missing his taxes 24 to 25 and he still has not filed it even if he knows we need it. I kept asking him to do it and he always says he doesn’t want to. We already had fights about it and it always end up with him saying he doesn’t want to do it or he doesn’t care. I am done. He keeps holding it above my head that he will do it when he wants to. He doesn’t want me to go and meet anyone, he doesn’t want me to fix his taxes for him, he doesn’t want me to do anything. No physical abuse. Everything happens in person so I don’t have proof/texts. Honestly, I just want to go home. I followed this man here, I love him and truly love him. But I am on my last point already. My original plan was to just go home to my country, but I also have family/friends here. I have loved traveling back and forth, going home without doing anything will only get me banned from going back to the US.
I want to file for VAWA but how will it work without text or evidences?
Edit:
I did not say everything he did, i did say he is holding my status above my head. Using it on arguments, saying he will get me deported. He uses it so I don’t go see family.
