How would you build ita shell?

How would you build ita shell?

Hello!

Found this old turtle boot scrubber hiding in the patio area. 🐢

It’s metal and the paint and has developed a nice aged look over the years. Originally, the shell was filled with rough pine needles/bristles that would scrape mud off boots, but they’re long gone now.

I’d like to repurpose it into something creative for the garden or patio instead of restoring the original scrubber. What do you think?

Is this an early sign of Infectious Coryza?

Hello everyone, this might be nothing, but I got a little paranoid since I saw my bird looking a little swollen on the nostrils this morning. I am unsure if how

For more context: their water circulation system malfunctioned and they were without water for 4-5 hours , when I repaired it they all rushed to drink. I noticed that this quail had red nostrils (I'm unsure if it started before or after she drank) and sometimes rubbed her beak on the pine shavings, then the dirt and against objects.

Now it looks less swollen then before, however she has been placed in isolation for now, outside the aviary. These are the best pictures I can take of her, I hope they are enough.

I am non-experienced with their diseases, so I'd love some input

Territorial behavior with eggs

Hello everyone!

First of all: happy mother's day to all moms!

Are my quails trying to be moms? I have introduced new quails to the old three hens I had. Of the 4 new ones, one is a rooster, and three are hens.

They are all coturnix quails, and I noticed that one of the "old" quails is extremely protective of her nest. For reference I use baskets with straw inside, and they lay their eggs inside them. She currently has 4 eggs inside, doesn't sit on them but if another quail comes close, she chases it away. Especially the roo.

Is this because she is trying to be broody?

Candle holders for Garden / Patio

Hello everyone! I’ve had these for about two years now; my mother gifted them to me for my patio, and I always thought they looked really nice outdoors. I did try using them for their intended purpose, but unfortunately the summer heat had other plans. (Candles melted 🫠) 😅 The candles would soften and melt pretty quickly, so after a while I ended up moving them to a quiet corner of the garden, where they’ve been sitting since around August.

They still seem too nice to throw away or leave forgotten, and I feel like there’s probably a creative use for them that I just haven’t thought of yet.

That’s where you come in; Id love to see what creatuve ideas people can come up with. Whether it’s repurposing them, transforming them into something completely different, or finding a practical use, I’m curious to hear your suggestions!
