Went out to buy a bike to build for my girlfriend and found a gem.
Long and the short of it, my girlfriend who’s had zero interest in bicycles throughout our relationship asked me to build her a comfy cruiser with an upright riding position, so I immediately started searching and found a Peugeot mixte off marketplace for $30 that had been hanging in an attic for 30 years.
Older guy answers the door and hopes that I don’t mind climbing up in the attic to bring it down. As I get up there, I shine the flashlight on the Peugeot and notice it just so happens to be sitting right next to a Stumpjumper, in my size and in the color I’ve always wanted but have never been able to find, (unless I was willing to spend a stupid amount of money). It’s definitely seen its years of use and abuse, but I couldn’t leave it behind.
Needless to say, I’m officially $150 poorer and 2 bikes richer. Here’s to giving them a little bit of love and many more miles! 🍻
