Spell DJ workflow

Happy 404 day!
I've been rewatching this DJ Spell set (the one at INCredible COFFEE), and his flow on the MKII is just legendary. He makes it look so effortless.
For doing continuous, seamless live sets on the MKII, what's the workflow to achieve that Spell-level fluidity?
* is he leaning heavily into the built-in DJ Mode?
* Structuring it bank-by-bank with an anchor track and live chops over the top?
* Or relying on pattern chains so he can free up his hands entirely for the FXs?
Any tips on routing, sample placement, or just overall live set architecture for a seamless performance would be massively appreciated!
Disclosure: I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to the SP-404MKII and don't have a ton of experience under my belt yet.
