His Denim Jacket 🧥

his denim jacket still hangs there,

on the old chair beside my mirror

it still smells faintly of rain somehow,

like all the things i miss right now.

the coffee beside me has gone cold again,

half-burnt candles burning low

net curtains sway in the midnight breeze,

while wind chimes sing in the night breeze.

wilted roses rest inside my book,

pressed beside your faded notes

funny how little things remain,

just to bring your voice back again.

and when the nights grow soft and blue,

i wear that jacket thinking of you

it doesn’t fill the space you left,

but makes the silence hurt a little less.

Raktabija Vadha — Chandika, Chamunda & the Matrikas

tried sketching the raktabija battle scene from the devi mahatmya with chandika, chamunda, and the matrikas.

got the initial composition idea from a pinterest artwork, but tried to make this sketch in my own style.

i know there may be mistakes in proportions, symbolism, or iconography, so apologies in advance 🙏🏻

also, can you identify the matrikas from left to right? I’m curious to see whether they’re recognizable through the attributes i drew :)

thank you.

Twilight between us 🌆🏮

tried painting a sunset silhouette scene, wanted it to feel calm, dreamy, and a little cinematic :)

“Little Me Loved You”

you played cricket in our lane,

i watched from windows after rain

you never knew, you never saw,

how much I liked you, that was all.

I’d fix my hair when you walked by,

then look away and wonder why

one small “hi" could make my day,

though I had nothing much to say.

years went by like paper planes,

but some soft feelings still remain

maybe childish, maybe true :)

little me still smiles at you.

Stopped my cat mid-hunt because..

pata hai aaj kya hua, so today I was watering the plants, and my cat 😺(male, 1 yr old) was with me in the garden. after a while, I noticed he was chasing something.. when I went closer, I realized he had caught a lizard 🦎. He wasn’t biting it, just pinning it down and swatting at it with his paws.. but the poor lizard was clearly terrified and injured 🥲 I could see its little belly rapidly rising and falling as it struggled to breathe, and I felt awful for it..

before I could reach him, my cat picked the lizard up in his mouth and ran into the courtyard, where he sat quietly and kept teasing it with his paw. I stayed calm, gently picked my cat up from behind, brought him inside, and locked the door. then, using a broom and dustpan, I carefully moved the lizard into the garden and released it 🌳🌳It was still alive and moving, so I believe it had a chance of surviving..

my cat then spent a while searching every corner of the house, clearly looking for the lizard. I gave him some cat food to satisfy and complete his hunting urge, and eventually he settled down and rested..

I intervened because I couldn’t bear to watch it suffer

:(

I once read the phrase “Jeevo Jeevasya Jeevanam"

*sigh*

caught my cat sitting like a tiny sentinel, watching the world go by from the window.

My cat has started following me everywhere 😄and not just when he wants food. I feed him, he eats well, and even after that he still follows me around the house. He waits outside the bathroom 😅 until I come out, watches me while I brush my teeth, do my makeup, eat, and even while I’m studying—almost like he wants to be involved in everything I do, also sometimes he comes to me late at night, and sleeps beside me.

Honestly, I find it really cute, and I love how attached he seems. But when I searched online, some articles mentioned separation anxiety, and now I’m wondering if that could be the case.

Is this normal cat behavior—just affection/bonding—or could it actually be anxiety? Also, what happens if I have to go out for a long time? Will he get stressed or eventually adapt? 🙏🏻

Would love to hear from fellow cat parents. 🐾
