Here’s my mostly Chinese collection. I got the Montblanc Rollerball from my wife about seven years ago. I picked up the Lamys and a couple of others during COVID but didn’t know how to care for them, so they dried out and went into a box. About three months ago, I came across them, watched a few YouTube videos on maintenance, and boom, here I am. That and a Bullet Journal experiment, and I’m happy to say I’m writing more than ever since I was working on my English degree two decades ago. Yes, I have ink, yes, I have a jeweler’s loupe, yes, I went to the California Pen show, and yes, my wife would like me to not buy more pens.
After making one for my wife (last pic is hers, she wanted gold hardware and about 200 smaller grommets and took forever…) I knocked this out in about an hour Sunday night. I love how it turned out. Total cost in materials including leather and tools was around $100. And I have enough leather for at least two more. This was my first leather working project since making keychain fobs as a boy scout in the 80’s.
