For example, I never subscribed to when people say, "Mohamed Atta (the 9/11 ringleader) was always suicidal (but knew that taking your own life is 'haram' in Islam) and he was looking for a way to die, and committing 9/11 was his way to do so." I really just believe Atta decided he was prepared to die upon deciding he wanted to be a "martyr" for Islam.

It reminds me of when people say: "Dylan Klebold wanted to die, and didn't care if that meant he had to kill people, and Eric Harris wanted to kill people, and didn't care if that meant he had to die."
