Going on 8 years as a grade 18. I have a lot of accrual leave, near top of pay scale but no real room for advancement in my agency. I've seen a few jobs in the private sector that paid 10k more with average benefits(401k,hybrid,bonuses, pto). Would I be an idiot if I left state service with 8 years? My spouse has 10+ years in the state.
