if kendall went last instead of chloe, people would’ve reacted VERY differently 😭

unpopular opinion: i actually agreed with jill in season 4 episode 2 when kendall and chloe went against each other 👀 if the situation was reversed and kendall got to go last instead of chloe, i honestly think christi would’ve been just as upset 😭

jill definitely overreacted sometimes but i understood why she felt frustrated because going last can be a huge advantage in competition. when chloe ended up going after kendall, jill felt like kendall was put at a disadvantage, and tbh i can see why she was annoyed

i also think if kendall and jill had benefited from a last-minute change like that, the fandom would’ve dragged them way harder 👀 but because it was chloe and christi, people excuse it more. i understand why christi defended chloe, but i also don’t think jill was completely wrong for being upset about the order change

rewatching season 3 made me feel so bad for kelly and her daughters 😭

i’m rewatching dance moms right now and i honestly feel so bad for kelly and her daughters in season 3 😭 you could tell everything was starting to emotionally affect them more that season. brooke looked completely drained and burnt out, and paige always seemed so nervous around abby. no matter what they did, it felt like abby was constantly criticizing them or making them feel unwanted on the team 👀

i know kelly and abby both had their issues, but rewatching it now makes me understand why kelly was always so emotional and protective over her girls. season 3 was honestly hard to watch at some points

I agree with abby in season 3 episode 5

unpopular opinion: i actually agreed with abby wanting chloe to do the standing back tuck 👀 before anyone gets mad, i completely understand why christi was nervous because a standing back tuck is a dangerous skill if the dancer isn’t mentally confident doing it 😭 and as a parent, i understand why she didn’t want chloe pressured into something she was scared of

BUT at the same time, i honestly think abby saw potential in chloe that even chloe didn’t fully see in herself yet people always talk about abby tearing chloe down, which definitely happened a lot, but there were also moments where abby pushed chloe because she knew she was capable of more technically than people gave her credit for

i don’t think the standing back tuck situation was abby trying to purposely embarrass chloe 👀 i think abby genuinely wanted her to stop doubting herself and push past the mental fear of the skill. dancers sometimes need someone to challenge them outside of their comfort zone, and if chloe had landed it confidently, people probably would’ve praised it as one of her biggest growth moments on the show

i still think abby’s delivery was harsh like always 😭 and she definitely could’ve handled the situation in a more supportive way instead of making chloe feel pressured. but unpopular opinion… i don’t fully disagree with abby wanting chloe to at least try the standing back tuck because i think she believed chloe was more capable than chloe believed herself

unpopular opinion: the team started falling apart after maddie and mackenzie left and nobody talks about it enough… here’s why 👀

unpopular opinion: when maddie and mackenzie left, the team chemistry honestly started falling apart 👀 not because the girls after them weren’t talented, because they definitely were, but the whole dynamic of the team changed once they left. maddie and kenzie had been there since the beginning, so losing both of them at the same time made the team feel completely different 😭 the competitions didn’t feel as emotional anymore, the moms became even more divided, and the girls stopped feeling like one close team and started feeling more like separate friend groups.

a lot of people say the show got better after they left because there was less favoritism, but honestly the energy just felt off after season 6. even when the dances were technically amazing, something about the team chemistry felt missing 👀 there were still iconic moments and strong dancers, but the connection between the girls didn’t feel as natural as it used to. season 7 especially felt more tense and awkward compared to the earlier seasons, and you could tell everybody was emotionally drained by that point 😭
