I wasted too much time, money and effort on this. Optiplex 9010.
I think it's floating somewhere between jank and gaudy and I'm into it. This is/was a 9010. I7 3770, 16Gb ram, Thermalight x36 was a worry to install to replace the offset Cooler. The hard drive cage saw some dremeling done and then replaced the 2.5 inch cd drive with an SSD caddy. The choice of a p1000 was not ideal, ideally I would have loved a 1650 LP but the price is just unreasonable to find one.
I bought the cheapest vinyl wrap on Amazon, and already had cans of spray paint on hand. It's A wonder just spray painting the inside black makes it feel.
Two things I wanted to do is getting gold DELL logo lettering which is currently in the mail to glue to the front panel, I also bought flexible magnet material to stick a design to the PSU but the print failed so I'll have to come up with another solution. I didnt want to paint or wrap the PSU.
This was a colossal waste of time and money for a computer that is now going to live under my TV running Batocera for emulation. But at least it looks like it will go faster right? ...right?
