I currently have an E90 328i and a NC Miata, both manual. The NC has had a lot of problems (not disclosed by previous owner. I know I’m an idiot). The E90 has been problem-free (knock on wood-grain), but I’ve had it for a few years and am kinda bored of it.

I’ve been thinking about getting rid of both of them and getting a 996 Carrera. I would also like to start learning to drive on track soon. Is a rear engine car really that ill-advised as a track car for a beginner?
