Hey all,

Working on a patch with a few new models, bug fixes, and memory improvements. Figured we’d ask the community if there’s anything we may not be aware of that folks want improved or added to the platform.

Fire away in the comments! 💚

Hey all,

Attached is a writeup on just4o.chat 's newest model, DeepSeek v4!

This model benchmarks particularly well from a performance vs cost perspective, and comes with the nuance of DeepSeek v3 with the depth and scale only a massive modern model can provide.

We are using Fireworks.ai as our host to provide DeepSeek v4 on www.just4o.chat - combining performance, ease of use, and privacy.

Hope you enjoy, alongside our new video features!

All the best,

🚢 A BIG SHIP TODAY!! 🚢

Hey folks,

We pushed a pretty chunky update today.

Video is a real first-class part of just4o.chat, the Wikipedia/media flow has been polished (and now supports audio tags!), Files is smoother for those audio tags, and we added some genuinely competitive open-source chat models via Fireworks.

Here’s the patch-notes version so you know what to expect:

Video generation:

Grok Imagine Video is now in the stack

- That means text-to-video, image-to-video, reference-to-video, video editing, and video extension are now part of the platform

- If you want the more flexible “keep working the same clip until it’s right” path, Grok is generally the best tool right now

PixVerse video is now in the stack too, and in many cases it gives a more photorealistic look over Grok Imagine, but imho lacks on audio. Combining the two gives the best results!

A very nice flow right now is:

1. Generate or edit a still with GPT Image 2

2. Animate it with PixVerse

3. Extend or revise it further with Grok Imagine Video

New open-source chat models via Fireworks:

- Added GLM 5.1

- Added Kimi K2.6

- Added MiniMax M2.7

These are not filler additions. They’re fast, intelligent, and actually useful. It’s truly exciting to see the open-source side of the ecosystem getting this competitive with SOTA closed source models.

Wikipedia flow / Files:

- Wikipedia browsing flow has been heavily polished

- You can tag images much more fluidly now, and you can now tag audio from Wikipedia articles too

- Tagged wiki media now shows up cleanly inside Files, with special formatting for tagged audio

- If you collect a bunch of Wikipedia images or audio, you can now bulk download them from Files as ZIPs

- Files also got UI improvements around audio tags and generated audio, so the whole media layer feels less awkward than before

Support / contact:

- We retired the contact form, and now clearly display our email or Discord in its place.

- Please either email us directly via the address on the contact page or join the community Discord if you have any questions or concerns to do with your account; this change should materially decrease average response time.

- This was mostly us shrinking the customer support surface area so we can respond better in fewer, clearer places.

- Also, just as a reminder, remember we’re on Reddit, Discord, X/Twitter, and Instagram.

Notes:

- Video is one of those features where the surface area grows very fast once it becomes real

- So if you notice weirdness around durations, credits, outputs, or UX edge cases, do let us know

- We would much rather ship this forward in public with you than sit on it for another month trying to polish every corner in private

🛳️🚢🛳️🚢🛳️🚢🛳️🚢

P.S.

Once we finish ironing out the video stack a bit more, the next big frontier is Personas V2 / “Characters” (working name, not final).

The rough vision there is:

- You create a character/persona and shape its personality

- You optionally generate a profile picture for it

- That picture becomes a reusable visual entity behind the scenes

- You can give it reusable assets too: outfits, props, tools, weapons, vehicles, environments, whatever fits the use case

- You’ll also be able to build reusable situations / scenes / world states around that character and start fresh chats inside them

The big goal is that the main chat can naturally pull those assets into image + video generation as needed, so the system starts feeling less like separate tools in separate tabs and more like one coherent creative machine.

If we can get it smooth enough, that opens the door to a lot:

- better rp / story workflows

- more consistent visual characters across chats

- educational and explanatory flows tied to tools like BLS / EIA, Canvas, files, etc.

- coherent custom character voices / TTS that speak as they generate text

- a more unified sense that the agent actually has a body, a voice, references, and a working memory of its own creative world

There are still open questions here.

We may end up gating some of that behavior behind 'smarter' models.

We may also eventually unify image credits/premium credits/billing more cleanly, and likely add ways to purchase extra media credits directly for people who really lean into images + video.

We also want to brush up the media UI a lot more and build a more dedicated iMovie-style editing suite around ffmpeg.

So: some of that is near-term, some of it is (admittedly) a little pie-in-the-sky, but it is the direction we are aiming for.

If you made it this far, it helps a lot if you upvote, comment, and share.

We’re still trying to grow the honest way: branded accounts, real patch notes, and direct replies, so everything counts! 💚

All the best,

the just4o.chat team

Hey all,

Not going to sugar coat this; we just got some bad (though not unexpected) news from OpenAI in the form of an email (attached below)

A big wave of deprecations is coming in July, and again in October.

The biggest two losses in our opinion will be:

- gpt-4.1-nano
- gpt-4o-2024-05-13

That said, we will continue to offer:

- gpt-4o-2024-11-20
- gpt-4o-2024-08-06

So, in some way, this is good news, because now we know at least 2 GPT-4o endpoints will persist beyond October 2026! I know that is more than some users expected initially, so look on the upside! :)

I'm sure there will be a lot of commentary on this, and we'll be around to answer questions to the best of our ability. We've been preparing for this, and will continue to do so, by adding more memory features, persona customization, open sourced models, and places to import chats from (Anthropic soon!)

Anyways, don't let this get 'ya too down. We've got another awesome update landing in a few hours, and we'll keep shipping into and through this fall.

All the best, friends 💚

Hey all,

Big creative + research update shipping today on www.just4o.chat.

The headline: GPT Image 2 and Grok Imagine Video are joining the creative stack, and our Wikipedia integration now reaches much deeper into Files and Images.

You can tag Wikipedia images, tag Wikipedia audio, see tagged wiki media inside Files, bulk download tagged wiki images/audio as ZIPs, and use wiki image tags as references in image generation or editing.

New image/video additions:

- GPT Image 2 — OpenAI's new flagship image model, now available in the image stack. If you haven't tried it yet... Give it a go. Stunning stuff.

- Grok Imagine Video — video generation is beginning its rollout on just4o. Video is heavier than images, so expect the UX/pricing to keep evolving.

- Seedream 4.5 — ByteDance Seedream via fal.ai, with fast generation/editing and up to 10 source/reference images.

- Open-source image routing moved to fal.ai — OSS text models are still on Fireworks, and open-source image routes now live through fal.

New chat models:

- GLM-5.1 via Fireworks

- Kimi K2.6 via Fireworks

- MiniMax M2.7 via Fireworks

Quick translation for the non-model-obsessed:

GLM is the new high-context engineering/agentic option. Kimi K2.6 is a strong multimodal agentic model with image input. MiniMax M2.7 is a useful base-tier workhorse for coding, tools, office-style tasks, and image input. GPT Image 2 and Seedream expand the image editor's range across OpenAI, Google, xAI, Black Forest Labs, and ByteDance workflows.

We also did a pass on the Images UI/UX. The editor is cleaner, reference picking is smoother, image editing is tucked into Files and Chat more naturally, and the dedicated image suite should feel easier to stay inside while iterating.

If you've been waiting to try just4o until images, files, references, and generation felt more connected, this is probably the update to check out. The update will land later today, with another post/official announcement coming on the Community Discord when live.

As always: feedback and feature requests below genuinely shapes the next build. An upvote, comment, or share helps more than you might think. We're doing this all in public, with real patch notes, direct user feedback, and a shipping pace supported by the people actually using the product.

All the best,

the just4o.chat team
