Behold the Slapped Legion (reupload cos I fucked up)
The Slapped Legion is infamous for their human wave attacks, with brave legion officers gallantly sending their enlisted personnel head on into enemy fire again and again until victory is achieved. Flanking or even using cover is a completely foreign (and therefore heretical) concept to the legion. The Legion's original warmaster was once bitch slapped so hard by space king that it left his face permanently marked. The blessed slap is commemorated by the legion's half red helmets and red right hands. Each member of the legion believes that once Space King has found his holy milk and cigarettes, he will return once more to slap the other side of their faces, thus making them spiritually whole.
What I learned painting this thing:
I've never painted vinyl before. I tried a citadel black primer, but my model paints still didn't really take. I used some hardware spray cans on top of the primer, which kind of worked, but still had some peeling issues while removing the painter's tape between colors. I ended up going over the green and red spray paint with traditional model paints, and after a few layers it ended up working. I'm not super happy with the results by painting it on so thick but I had a good time. I'm wondering if an initial light pass with sand paper before the primer would have yielded better results, but oh well, live and learn! Happy to support the show.
