2nd season, managed to get 10 days in at my local hill (PNW). Went from somewhat doing Greens to mostly being able to do Blues! For any beginners out there, 1 season is all it takes for it to click! I have been trying for YEARS to get into skiing and it finally happened :)
I went about every week-ish, mostly on a weekday morning. It was a rough season but I skiied on average 4 hours each time I went (including lift and break), in ALL types of conditions, RAIN, heavy snow, bright sun, icy crust, dry powder (just once :( ), PNW SLUSH.
I used Nordica Alldrive 74 skis - thats what the rental shop gave me, length 168. I'm 6 ft 200lbs, these were a bit hard to learn on tbh. Especially when the snow was all chopped up. For boots, I had Atomic Hawx Magnas.
Last season I rented skis and boots each time I went + bought day tickets. This time I got an off peak season pass and season rental. This included parking. Not having to walk to rental store and rent stuff each time made a HUGE difference, just get ready in car and walk to the slope!
In case anyone will find pricing helpful.. I already own winter clothing and gear.

Would love some recommendations for skis for next season. I will not really plan to progress past Blues as Greens and Blues seem to be my happy place. I am not looking to go too fast, carv or do moguls etc. I just want something stable is easy to find an edge and cut through the crud in PNW. I found it very hard to ski in slush this season.
I will likely get myself a pair of Atomic Hawx Magnas (may size down and punch out) or stick with same size with a spoiler.
