So far, there's been over 1.5 million auctions carried out by searchers via Fastlane MEV protocol.
For context: In late January, Fastlane launched the MEV Protocol in collaboration with Category Labs. This MEV Protocol consists of two parts: the Sidecar and the Auction Handler.
Searchers plug into the Auction Handler to be able to participate in auctions.
Validators run the Sidecar to order MEV bundles. 115 validators out of the total 200 active validators are currently running the Sidecar. This means that 57% of validators have already adopted it, with more onboarding still ongoing.
Searchers participate in auctions to be able to extract MEV. To ensure their transaction bundles get prioritised, they tip validators. These tips act as extra profit for validators (MEV reward).
This is also beneficial to Fastlane stakers because a percentage of this MEV reward gets allocated to stakers.
