Is doing CF6 a good idea or would it work against me later on

Passed R05 recently and I’m starting R01 now. I’ve been applying for admin roles but haven’t had much luck so far. My plan now is to start contacting firms directly now that I’ve passed my first exam.

At the same time, because I’m not sure how long it could take to land an admin role, I’m considering taking CF6 after R01 so I could also apply for trainee mortgage adviser roles.

My long-term goal is definitely financial advice, but I also want to leave my current role sooner rather than later, and I’m worried I may not find an admin role within the next 6 months.

Would going down the mortgage route first work against me later when trying to move into financial advice? Or would it still be seen as relevant experience?

I’ve booked my R05 exam for Saturday the 9th as I felt ready after reading the book. However, I keep failing the mocks (scoring between 64% and 68%).

I know I still have time to improve, but what score should I be aiming for in mocks before the exam?

For context, I’ve read the CII book, completed the three KnowR0 mocks, and done one on the BTS app.

Wish me luck!
