dog approved (?) acid techno

to tell you the truth, I don't really know if the dog approves it, hence the question mark. He doesn't bark at it, so that's something.. right?

Basic 909+303 combo, nothing ground breaking. It did make me move tho and I wanted to share it with you guys.

I decided to change my gain staging technique a few days ago and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. Before I used to saturate the kick, the percs and some other stuff using preamp overdrive but as a result I had to keep my faders very low. Now I keep all my faders up at 100% and mix using only the preamp gain knobs. I saturate the kick and percs using TR8s' internal overdrive, the 303 has a dedicated distortion anyway and I don't really want to distort other synths.

Genuenly interested, what's your approach to gain staging and for what genre?

Anyone else not enjoy tiny synths?

With the trend towards tiny hardware, for example TE stuff and Roland’s S-1, P-6, etc. Does anyone else find tiny stuff like that doesn’t excite them?

I've finally got my JP8k to work flawlessly. Both channels are working, no noise, nominal output levels. I am very happy!

I also made a little sidechain trigger with an Arduino and it works just as expected. Might post it here if there's enough interest.

Enjoy your week, synth people ♥️
