First West End trip advice
For a bit of background context, I’m Canadian and usually will go down to NY once or twice a year to see theatre but I don’t particularly want to visit my southern neighbours rn so I booked my first trip to London in early May instead. I’ve mapped out that I have time for 6 shows while still doing all the tourist stuff I want to do. Here’s where I am right now in terms of what to see.
Locks:
Into the Woods (one of my fav musicals)
The Producers (huge Mel Brooks fan)
Mother Courage and Her Children (want to see a show at the globe)
Oliver! (when in London…)
That leaves me with 2 shows left. Here’s what I’m thinking.
Would-be-locks:
Paddington (if I win the ticket lottery)
Other options:
Avenue Q (saw a cheap local production but like the material)
Matilda (love Tim Minchin, worried the production would have gotten stale after all this time)
Teeth n’ Smiles (love music from that era, loved Stereophonic)
Kinky Boots (never seen it but heard it’s delightful)
Other options but $$$:
Inter Alia
Romeo & Juliet
Any thoughts? I apologize if this is a lot.
For reference, some of my favourite shows are Hadestown, Company, Come From Away, Great Comet, and Into the Woods
