Interesting tidbit of info about fsh and cholesterol

I have had POF for 20 yrs since I was 19 and have been struggling with high cholesterol for at least a decade in my adult life despite I have always eaten healthy. I have had to cut my saturated fat way back to less than 15g a day and lost quite a bit of weight. Now my cholesterol is okay but still on the high end.

I was looking up how Estradiol is made and turns out your body uses cholesterol to create estradiol with a few steps in between. So considering my FSH is probably still high despite being on hormones (cause they never test it and just go by symptoms) then it makes sense that my body is making extra cholesterol because it wants my ovaries to make more estradiol but they can’t cause they don’t work.

And it bothers me because I’m also hypothyroid and they test my TSH levels every 6 months to verify my medicine is right but no doctor asks to test my FSH to see if my estrogen levels are high enough for my body to function normally. It’s like they (doctors and the majority of medical professionals) don’t care about the uniquely feminine. I just thought this was really interesting and wanted to share/vent.

My about 1 year old hen was found down the road from my house by some neighbors and brought back. She had only been let out of the coop a few hours before. When I put her back in the coop she seemed confused and was going in circles tryin to figure out where to roost and the other chickens were being mean to her. So I kenneled her for the night. It’s been a couple days and she is still walking in circles and turning her head to the right to eat. Still eating and drinking and poop looks normal. Able to walk fine. I have a flock of about 15-20 other birds and she’s the only one with symptoms. Not really sure what it could be. She has no other wounds or symptoms. She’s always been a friendly girl and one of my favorites 😭

I got some vitamins for her water cause maybe wry neck?

This is stormy my lone male mouse and I’m new to having a mouse as a pet. What are some of your mouse’s (mice’s) favorite snacks? So far I know he loves oatmeal and walnuts. I try some veggies and fruit and he’ll eat some carrots and stuff but he’s not big on them. Seemed to dig the blackberry I put in his house. Never touched the strawberries which is weird cause the wild mice love to eat the ones I have in my garden. Do they prefer organic? He does get mouse food pellets and stuff scattered throughout his dwelling plus dried plant stuff. He killed the dried flax plants fast so I’m guessing he loved those. He’s a sweet boy.
