So I'm an aspiring career-changer from the education sector. I've started a course online which involves theory and practical training and exams before a 4 week placement with an electrician 9-5 for my NVQ portfolio.

I'm right at the start of all that so I'm just learning theory at the moment.

To get a head start, I'm making a practice board, fed from a fused plug, that simulates a real electrical installation (as best as I can).

Use your mind's eye and imagine the WagoBox and FCU are the DNO fuse and meter.

The 2.5mm T&E feeding my CU are the meter tails.

So far I've completed a socket radial and almost finished a ring final (The unfinished accessory will be a flex outlet)

My next circuit will be a lighting circuit with 2-way and intermediate switching.

Are there any other circuits I should try after? My CU has seven ways.

Do forgive my shoddy wiring, it's quite literally my first time and I'm self taught.

Cheers

So I was fault finding in a hurry today, attempted to check continuity on a socket circuit that I thought was isolated, it was live. It tripped the RCD when I tested N-E.

Have I damaged my MFT?

It seems that it still tests continuity just fine, but is there a chance there's any internal damage/calibration messed up?
